Round Rock Rhythm Represents at Pro Basketball Showcase

By Dennis Porter – September 3, 2013

On August 25 and 26, 70-plus players, along with agents, coaches, scouts, and fans, converged on Dallas to be
a part of the Pro Basketball Showcase. The event was a showcase for players looking for opportunities; several league reps were present,  including those from the United Basketball League, the American Basketball Association, and the NBA D-League. Players from as far as Illinois and even agents from the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional (LNBP) were in attendance.  The event was hosted by Jonathan Bentley of Baseline Sports and ScoutAthletes.

Central was well represented by members of the Round Rock Rhythm who had an outstanding weekend showing, going 10-2 over the two-day event.  Andre Williams, Pat Perkins, Geoff Harner, Demetrius Smith, Dennis J. Porter, A.D. Cockhern, and Rhythm prospect Terry Bembry made an impression on all in attendance. Several members of the Rhythm were wooed by coaches and scouts from other leagues to bring their talents to those organizations.

On Saturday, September 7, the LNBP will hold try-outs in Houston; Rhythm player Dennis J. Porter will be taking part in the event.
