Austin Gets Bronze in Walk-Friendly Cities

The Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center (PBIC) recently identified the country’s 11 most Walk Friendly Communities, and guess who got a Bronze rating? That’s right, our very own Austin, Texas.

Ratings were based on factors related to safety, mobility, access and comfort. The PBIC noted Austin programs like Safe Routes to School, the Public Works Child Safety Program, Walk, Bike, & Roll and Walk Texas! as reasons Austin was chosen as a top pedestrian friendly community.
