New to Austin: January 2015
Pure Pilates Austin
11011 Domain Drive; purepilatesaustin.com
Pure Pilates Austin, a pilates studio, has opened in the Domain. Owners Allison Slapnicka and Cameron Drummond decided to start their second location after seeing the success of their first studio, which opened last year near The University of Texas campus. Pure Pilates Austin classes will use the Lagree Fitness method, utilizing Megaformer machines—similar to Pilates Reformer machines, but with easier transitions—that are designed to develop core muscles but also bring an aerobic element to the workout and keep one’s heart rate up. Because of the size of the machines, classes sizes are smaller—with no more than 8–10 people in the studio at a time.

4th Edition Design
4th Edition Design is, in a sense, a producer of new life. Owner and designer Matt Andersen uses wood from trees that have already fallen to craft one-of-a-kind, organic, and modern home furnishings—making products perfect for those looking to integrate a little bit of nature or the outdoors into their home decor. Custom orders can be made for tables, countertops, seating, lighting, storage, and doors. Andersen’s masterpieces are carved from sustainably harvested wood sourced from around the state of Texas. The company opened their showroom and manufacturing facility in Cedar Park on Dec. 1.
