Run for the Water Registration has Opened!

By AFM – July 13, 2012

In this year’s April issue of Austin Fit Magazine we ran on article on Gilbert Tuhabonye and his non-profit, The Gazelle Foundation (you can check out the article here). The foundation was co-founded by Tuhabonye in 2006 and strives to build sustainable, life-changing water projects in Burundi. Many have wondered how they can help contribute to this simple yet life-changing cause, well here’s your chance! October 28 is this year’s date for Run for the Water, a running event including a 10-mile, 5K and kids 1K race. Thanks to participation in Run for the Water the past five years, the foundation has been able to provide over 11,500 Burundians with access to clean water for their remainder of their life through the implementation of water systems. In fact, your entry directly helps the Gazelle Foundation provide one Burundian with clean drinking water for the rest of their life. The registration for this year’s race just opened July 9, so hurry and sign up before prices go up October 1! Not much of a runner? The foundation is also looking for volunteers for the event – you can learn more or register online here. What are you waiting for? Dig deep and run for the water.
