The year 2025 has definitely been the year of Pilates, and so, keeping with that trend, I had the opportunity to go test out a new pilates studio in Mueller called Vaura.

At their core, Vaura offers low-impact and strength-building. The studio’s philosophy, meanwhile, revolves around fusing the precision of reformer pilates with the dynamic power of athletic training, combined with an environment that gets you super pumped. If you’re looking for a workout that’s low-impact but high-energy, totally unique and just plain fun, I found that Vaura is a place where you can get all of that.

I had the pleasure of joining one of their very first classes for their studio grand opening and came to the realization that you truly do walk out more energized than when you go in.

Here’s How Vaura Pilates Works

From the moment I stepped into the studio, I loved the vibe (think ultra-chic nightclub meets fitness sanctuary). Neon lights, upbeat music, and a sleek high-end aesthetic immediately set the tone for a workout that’s as much about fun as it is about fitness.

The staff were all extremely friendly and showed you around the studio and where to set up on your assigned reformer, which is a specialized piece of equipment that has a slidable unit that provides resistance for a full-body workout. Before any class begins, the teacher will explain everything you need to know about their unique reformer and the additional equipment you will be using. I have done plenty of these style pilates classes before, but I have never used some of the equipment they have. It made things fun and exciting!

Like any reformer pilates class, get ready to challenge your stabilizer muscles and shake. Vaura has a great mix of strength and stability and a few cardio bursts built in to get your heart rate up. The format splits up various body parts to burn out each section and give you a full-body workout. Their signature all-in-one class “total” combines strength, endurance, and stretch in a full-body conditioning workout for every level.

The trainer gave options for every level along the way, so it is a great option for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned Pilates princess or brand new to the concept, Vaura’s classes are adaptable, high-energy, fun, and effective. They have some cute merch in the store as well, so whether you are looking for some cute activewear or forgot to bring your sticky socks with you, they’ve got you covered.

Vaura also offers a second class called “stretch,” which is a great alternative for rest and recovery. This class is a great option if you want to focus on improving your flexibility and control. Drawing from pilates and yoga, the deep stretch poses will improve your mobility and flexibility while also building strength, helping to prevent injury and reducing stress.

I have my eye on this one for next time–it’s something I know I need to get better at!

What’s The History Of Vaura Pilates

No matter which class you choose, though, each session combines the core principles of reformer pilates with strength training. The trainers create their own unique flows for every class, so no two workouts are the same. This will keep things interesting, helping you avoid plateaus while staying engaged and challenged every time you step onto the reformer.

Every unique fitness experience offering starts with a backstory. Kevin Boucher, who founded KB ATX Brands (a group of high-performing wellness experiences), grew up as a competitive swimmer and then ended up competing collegiately. Fitness was always a large part of his story.

In 2016, he moved to Australia, ended up trying out F45, and got hooked (like many people). He thought it was a great combination of cardio and strength–but in an accessible way for the masses. When he moved back to the states in 2018, he started his first venture, opening up an F45 studio in the Domain. Quickly, he noticed a shift in the fitness industry as people began turning away from high-intensity interval training and looking for more low-impact strength and recovery alternatives.

KB ATX formed Vaura, while their other venture, FS8, focuses on low-impact strength building, but in different ways. Vaura is more high-energy whereas FS8 is more of your traditional reformer pilates classes. The KB ATX Group is also working on a new project for an expanded F45 on South Lamar that will focus on strength in a very different way from its typical programming. There will be a new strength progression class, infrared saunas, cold plunge, red light, oxygen, and salt therapy. That opening may be closer than you think (they are pitching it for Feb/March 2026).

In the meantime, Vaura is running a 12-day VAURA challenge that starts on the 12th of December, as well as a holiday sip and sculpt social on the 12th to kick it all off. Curious about Vaura? Use discount code NIKKI10 for 10% off a Vaura 5-class pack!
