The Frisco Education Foundation Gary Burns Annual 5K & Fun Run is a one-mile fun run/walk and 5K certified race held at Toyota Stadium. Each year, the event features food, entertainment and other family-friendly activities, including a guest appearance by the City of Frisco Fire Clowns. The event is named for former Frisco Assistant Fire Chief Gary Burns, who died of colon cancer in 1999.
Proceeds from the Fun Run benefit scholarship opportunities for Frisco ISD students, including the Gary Burns Memorial Scholarship Fund, and innovative teacher grants that support teaching and learning in the classroom.
