Triathlons are about to get a glow up.

SuperTri, a global leader in short course triathlons, announced this month its expansion into mass participation events, acquiring five races across the globe, including two in Central Texas.

The five-event series, spearheaded by the Ascension Seton Austin CapTex Triathlon and the Kerrville Triathlon Festival, will lead SuperTri’s investment into various areas across the United States, including the Long Beach Legacy Triathlon in California and the Chicago Triathlon in Illinois. A fifth triathlon will take place in Toulouse, France.

The launch of the division will take on a new name – By SuperTri – and will also bring a dynamic footprint into the sport.

“By SuperTri marks the next phase of our rebrand and represents a big step in our evolution to a triathlon community,” SuperTri CEO Michael D’Hulst said. “We are shaping the future of triathlon by linking professional racing with mass participation. Through By SuperTri, we cater to experienced athletes who want too go fast while also inspiring first-time participants to become lifelong competitors. They are motivated by the race experience and being part of the SuperTri community that inspires and connects them.

The Ascension Seton Austin CapTex Triathlon, which winds through downtown Austin and through the waters of Lady Bird Lake, is scheduled for May 26,

The Kerrville Triathlon Festival, founded in 2011 and located just north of San Antonio, is set for September 27-28 and features a series of races, including a 70.3-mile distance event.
