4-week workshop OFFERED AT NO COST. ON SITE at Ballet Austin (501 W. 3rd St) beginning July 13, 2021.

For years there have been major health concerns around heart disease and cancer, as well as other serious physical ailments. Today the number one fear around health is losing brain function as we age.

Physical exercise is not only important for your body’s health- it also helps your brain stay sharp!

Research by leading neuroscientists shows that the primary purpose of the brain is to control the movement of the body – and the best exercise for the brain is PHYSICAL exercise. In older adults, regular physical activity helps slow the usual loss of brain volume, which may help to prevent age-related memory loss and possibly lower the risk of dementia. There are clear differences in brain health in older adults who get regular exercise, compared with those who are more sedentary. These differences have consequences for thinking and reasoning as well as for memory.

This 4-week workshop includes simple movement exercises that will challenge both your body and your brain and make you smile…even laugh while doing it!

A great workshop whether you are an elite athlete or a couch potato! Everyone benefits from a body & brain boost!

Instructor: Vicki Parsons, Ballet Austin’s Butler Center for Dance & Fitness Director and Certified Brain Health Trainer and member of the Functional Aging Institute.
