Event Details

The steps you take are important. They get you places, connect you with people, and keep you independent.

The fear of falling can be common as we get older. Even if you have never had a fall, the fact that more than 1 in 4 people age 65 or older falls each year, and that every second an older adult in the US has a fall, puts the real risk of falling in your mind.

The fear of falling can lead to a more sedentary life, avoiding activities such as walking, shopping, or taking part in social activities with friends and family. Even moving through your home may present a worry.

The good news is that there are simple ways to prevent falls.

This workshop will focus on promoting and maintaining better balance, coordination, and posture through a series of simple brain and muscle exercises. The goal of ongoing balance training is to teach your brain how to quickly activate the right muscles in your body at the right time to help you keep your balance; to reduce and even prevent falls, and most importantly to relieve the fear and worry of moving around.

Offered at NO COST due to underwriting from St. David’s Foundation AGING WELL Program.

Masks will be worn during class.

Caregivers and family welcome! Or you also may be interested in our Caregiver’s Training Workshop
