With the fall weather on its way, every Austinite is looking forward to the dip in temperatures. And what better way to celebrate that crisper air than by taking your workout to the outdoors. While there are lots of classes that might be set outdoors, Castle Hill Fitness has something prepared to be accessible to all fitness levels; free workout and movement classes located in Austin’s newest Downtown park.
Starting this fall, Castle Hill Fitness and Waterloo Greenway are teaming up to bring Austin a series of free classes set at Moody Amphitheater Lawn. The exciting series will begin on September 6 and continuing until November 3, taking full advantage of the cooler weather.
These weekly workouts are not only free but are open to the public, meaning one does not need to be a member at Castle Hill to attend! Truly a partnership meant to celebrate the natural wonders of the city and those that live in it — so that all can take in the benefits of working up a sweat in the great outdoors.
“Being involved with community partnerships like these is an exciting way for our company to evolve,” says Clayton Aynesworth, Castle Hill Fitness President. “We want to bring Austinites together to experience the benefits of movement and are honored to have the open spaces of Waterloo Greenway as a venue this fall.”
Waterloo Greenway, a 1.5-mile park system that meanders along Waller Creek from 15th street along Downtown’s eastern edge to Lady Bird Lake. Full of lush greenery and well-maintained trails that connect to each open green space, the whole area is perfect for any kind of movement class.
The system came in a significant public-private partnership between the City of Austin and the Waterloo Greenway Conservancy, the 35 acres of connected green space is poised to be the park of all parks – right here in heart of Downtown Austin, Texas.
The free weekly workouts kick off on Labor Day with yoga and mindful movement classes throughout the day. Participants should register in advance on Castle Hill Fitness’s website and bring water, a towel and a mat to class.
The rest of the class schedule is Mondays at 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m., and Sundays at 10 a.m;view the full program details here. People of all abilities are encouraged to participate. So grab your friends, register online, and get ready for a welcomed breath of cool air.
