Enjoying This Year’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix is as Easy as 1-2-3

By Press Release – November 5, 2013

Even if you haven’t made plans to attend this year’s Formula 1 United States Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas (COTA) Nov. 15-17, it’s not too late!  And getting to the racetrack for a day full of premium motorsports and entertainment is as easy as 1-2-3.

STEP 1:  CHOOSE YOUR TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING

PARK + RIDE:  Circuit of The Americas is offering two up-close Park + Ride locations within three miles of the track.  Choose either the RED LOT on FM 973 or the YELLOW LOT on FM 812. Park + Ride passes are $20 per vehicle for a three-day pass or $10 per vehicle if you buy each day individually.  Be sure to bring cash with you when you park! Here are the two Park + Ride locations:
·       RED LOT – FM 973 Park + Ride:  Intersection of FM 973 and Burleson Rd.
·       YELLOW LOT – FM 812 Park + Ride:  9605 FM 812 (one-eighth mile east of The Crown Center)

Park + Ride lots will open at 7 a.m. CT daily, and shuttle buses from those lots will drop patrons at COTA’s shuttle bus depots on McAngus Road, just one-half mile from COTA’s Grand Plaza entrance.

DOWNTOWN SHUTTLE:  Race fans staying in the downtown Austin area can also take advantage of the $5 shuttle bus to COTA originating from the Austin Convention Center.  While this is not an official Park + Ride location, and no parking will be provided at the Austin Convention Center, guests with other downtown parking accommodations can leave the driving to COTA and get a round-trip bus ride to the track for only $5 per person. Downtown shuttle buses will run Nov. 15-17 from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. CT.

As always, before heading to COTA, be sure to check the weather forecast, dress for the weather, and wear comfortable shoes for walking around the track.

STEP 2: BUY YOUR TICKETS AT THE COTA TICKET OFFICE

Once you arrive at the Grand Plaza, look for the COTA Ticket Office, which is right out front.  Decide whether you want reserved seats or a general admission ticket.  Both three-day and single-day tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Office.  Prices start at $49 for a single-day GA ticket or $79 for a single-day reserved seat.

STEP 3:  ENJOY LIVE RACING AND FREE ENTERTAINMENT

In addition to the Formula 1™ Grand Prix and exciting racing from the Ferrari Challenge and Formula Vintage Invitational series, COTA is offering ticketed race fans free entertainment following the on-track action on Saturday, Nov. 16, and Sunday, Nov. 17.  Catch the Australian rock bank Sick Puppies before Saturday’s qualifying rounds and sensational rapper Pitbull after Sunday’s F1 race. Both will be performing LIVE in the Austin360 Amphitheater at Circuit of The Americas. All fans can also join Sunday’s free post-race track invasion and literally walk in the tire treads of their racing heroes.
