Meditation Bar is redefining Happy Hour while still altering your consciousness. Located in northwest Austin, this studio is a serene spot for you to unwind with a variety of guided meditation classes, offered seven days a week. With experienced instructors leading each session, you’ll gradually learn how to calm your “monkey mind,” escape the stressors of everyday life, and find clarity through practiced mindfulness. Meditation Bar has something for everyone—including basics exclusively catered to aroma, calming or awakening, to classes for teens, programs for cancer survivors, meditation in the workplace, and of course, a Happy Hour. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned student, Meditation Bar welcomes anyone interested in setting aside 45 minutes of their day to develop this ancient practice.

Green Bird Fitness is a community of people who are working toward a healthier and more balanced life. The mission is to provide a fitness studio that focuses on sustainable lifelong fitness while keeping it fun. Founder Lauren Whitehead has an impressive résumé, complete with a Pilates certification, 200 hour yoga certification, 10+ years in the fitness industry, in addition to master’s degrees in biology, public health, and public affairs. All classes (Pilates mat, barre and yoga) offered are low-impact and appropriate for any level of fitness. Transform, started by Austin-based performance artist and choreographer Erica Nix, is a new queer-friendly fitness, yoga, and community center. At the new location, Erica teaches aerobics and boot camps, in addition to unique fitness activities like Class Transitions. In Class Transitions, transgender men and women use strength training and aerobics to shape their bodies as they become their most authentic selves. These classes have no shortage of inspiration from the greats, like Richard Simmons and Jane Fonda. It was built with the intention to offer a fun, safe space to work out, get healthy, and be part of a creative community.
