Guayakí Yerba Mate invites you to join us on April 22nd for our Earth Day Street Fair at the fabulous Native Hostel in East Austin. This gathering is part of a month-long series of events hosted by Guayakí called Come To Life: Austin, and will be a celebration of the city’s artists, creators, movers, and shakers.
The Street Fair will be an extension of our immersive I AM THIS dome installation, a shared VR nature experience to be housed at Native Hostel throughout the month of April. With performances by local musicians, exhibits by local artisans, and food and beverage provided by fellow responsible companies, the gathering will have a special emphasis on helping increase access to aid for the artistic community.
The importance of art goes beyond its ability to connect and inspire. It is the conduit that spreads important ideas, when barriers are present and words simply are not enough. Unfortunately, many creators are not able to fulfill their fundamental needs.
During our time in Austin, we are partnering with local groups that are truly solutionary in ensuring artists needs are met so they can not only continue to be makers in their community, but movers as well. The Support the Artists Street Fair will benefit our primary non-profit partner, HAAM (Health Alliance For Austin Musicians).
Why Earth Day?
Guayakí has always been a mission driven company, with a goal to steward and restore 200,000 acres of South American Atlantic Rainforest and create 1,000 living wage jobs by 2020. We envision yerba mate culture powering this mission via our Market Driven Regeneration Business Model, regenerating vibrant ecosystems and creating vibrant communities. We have chosen Earth Day to celebrate the regenerative movement as it applies not only to the planet, but to its people as well. We invite Austin’s artistic community to join us in this celebration, and to share their art as a regenerative cultural force.
