Whether you rely on your bike for your daily commute or if you just hop on for a different workout when the weather’s nice, you’ve got a stake in the upcoming city council elections. With a number of potential bike projects in the works, Austin could see good things happen for clean transportation in the coming years.
Take a look at the League of Bicycling Voters’ recent City Council endorsements to find out who will support crucial bike projects.
Place 1: The LOBV enthusiastically supports Chris Riley. In Place 1, Chris is the candidate who has best demonstrated that he truly understands bicycling advocacy and its challenges.
Place 3: The LOBV supports Randi Shade. While we recognize that Shade’s overall environmental performance can be improved, we recognize her solid support on all bicycle-related issues during her term. We respect the credentials of her rival Kathie Tovo and look forward to her eventual service on the council. But in this race we will stand behind Randi Shade’s experience on the council and her record of support for Austin cyclists.
Place 4: The LOBV strongly supports Laura Morrison, who has reliably supported bicycling in Austin during her first term on council. We look forward to another term of working with her.
