First Thursday is a popular monthly event that takes place along South Congress Avenue, generally from Barton Springs Road to Elizabeth Street. All of the stores along SoCo that normally close early, stay open late (most stay open until 10 p.m., but some later). Some of the stores have special sales and give out free drinks. Come out to Austin’s most popular monthly block party — it’s perfect for all ages.
