Resolution Run 5K
Presented by St. Philip’s UMC on Jan. 1, this is the 4th annual Resolution Run. Starting at 16321 Great Oaks Drive in Round Rock, the race features $50, $40 and $30 prize money to the top three male and female overall finishers. There are door prizes and several age group awards, alongside fruit, water, Gatorade and black-eyed peas. Be sure to be there at 11 a.m. for the race start. The Race for Chase
Join in this exciting inaugural 5K/1K run to help young Chase celebrate his historic first “new” year with his new set of lungs and liver! The race will take place at 9 a.m. on Jan. 8 at the Williamson County Regional Park, located at 3005 County Road 175, just off 1431 at Sam Bass Rd., and will run through this scenic park’s crushed granite trails, starting and finishing near the track stadium. Run-Tex 30K
On Jan. 16, the Run-Tex 30K (18.6 miles) will be the sixth run in the 2004/2005 Run-Tex Distance Challenge series. 3M Half Marathon
Starting at the Gateway Shopping Center on Jan. 30, the 3M Half Marathon is a perennial Austin favorite in its 11th year. The 13.1 mile course winds north to south through an urban setting, ending at House Park Field, and is mostly (but not exclusively) downhill. Start time for the race is 7 a.m. For 2005 the Half Marathon event cap is set at 3,200 individuals and 90 two-person relay teams, so be sure to register early.
