Bell 5K Run
The Mothers Against Drunk Driving Heart of Texas Chapter
hosts the annual 5K run and walk benefit to educate the
community about the dangers of drunk driving, as well
as serve as an advocate for victims of this violent crime.
In addition, the Kid’s K is a fun way to involve
the local community in efforts to end drunk driving and
underage drinking. The funds they receive for the event
allow for the development and expansion of public education
programs in Central Texas. It all starts at 8:30 a.m.
on Dec. 4 at 1st Street and Riverside Drive. For more

Dirty Duathlon

Rocky Hill Ranch once again will be the kick-off race
in the dirty duathlon series in Smithville, Texas. On
Saturday, Dec. 4, the event consists of a three-mile trail
run, 12-mile mountain bike, followed by another three-mile
trail run. If you’ve done the muddy buddy, this
is the next step up. We also offer a relay category which
starts at 10 a.m. for those who only ride or run, but

Brown Santa
5K & Kids’ 1K
On Dec. 5, the Travis County Wellness Committee, in association
with the Austin Runners Club (ARC), is hosting the first
Brown Santa 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ K. The Brown Santa
races will be held at the Travis County Exposition Center
and proceeds will benefit Brown Santa, a program that
helps 1,000 families in Travis County with a Christmas
dinner (complete with turkey and fixin’s) and toys
for the kids. The Brown Santa 5K is offered as a competitive
event as well as a fun run/walk beginning at 8:15 a.m.

Decker Challenge
20K
In association with the Brown Santa 5K, the Austin Runners
Club is proud to present the 26th annual Decker Challenge
20K. This possibly chilly and definitely hilly race will
also be held on Dec. 5 at the Travis County Expo Center,
starting at 8 a.m. Benefitting the Town Lake Trail Foundation,
the Decker Challenge is the fifth race in the Austin Distance
Challenge Series. ARC members receive a $2 discount off

Trail of Lights
5K
On Saturday, Dec. 11, the Trail of Lights Festival will
include a 5K event starting at 6:30 p.m. The course runs
through Zilker Park and the awesome Trail of Lights, featuring
more than 180,000 lights. The entry fee also includes
a “Trail of Lights 5K” long sleeve t-shirt
designed by a local artist. Awards will be given to the
top 50 overall male and female entrants. For more information,

Frosty’s
5K Family Fun Run/Walk
Frosty’s 5K Family Fun Run/Walk, sponsored by Round
Rock’s city magazine, Rumor Has It, will be a great
event for the entire family. The Fun Run benefits the
Round Rock YMCA, STARRY, Round Rock Habitat for Humanity
and the Round Rock ISD Education Foundation. There will
be food and drinks provided along with activities for
the kids, live music and family fun. So grab the family,
your running shoes and come help make a difference. The
event is on Dec. 18, starting at Old Settlers Park and

Jingle Bell
5K For Family Enhancement
This is the 12th annual 5K run helping to support the
Comal County Family Outreach program. On Dec. 11, the
race starts and ends at beautiful Landa Park, Pavilion
11 in New Braunfels beginning at 9 a.m. This program provides
help to build better families. Post-race festivities include
food and beverages with prizes and entertainment. Come
