Torch Run 5K
Enjoy a twilight run benefiting the Special Olympics in Austin and surrounding areas on September 25 at 6 p.m. Bring the whole family for an evening of fun and fitness. Registration fees are $25. All participants will receive a long-sleeved race T-shirt. After the run a cauldron will be lit in honor of the Special Olympics athletes. Congress Avenue Mile
Be part of an Austin tradition by participating in the first race of the 2004 - 2005 Run-Tex Distance Challenge. Open to athletes of all ages and speeds, the Congress Avenue Mile will take place on September 6 at 8 a.m. The course begins at the Texas State Capital Building in downtown Austin and finishes on the Congress Avenue Bridge over Town Lake. It will be a great opportunity to increase your speed or just have some fun. Also, runners who register for the Congress Avenue Mile are automatically registered for the Run-Tex Distance Challenge. Packet pick-up will take place on September 4 and 5 during store hours at RunTex Riverside (located at 422 W. Riverside Drive). Packets may also be picked up at the starting line 30 minutes prior to your heat. Registration fees are $15. For more information, visit www.runtex.com.

Zilker Relays
Four person teams will unite to race, jog or stroll around the perimeter of Zilker Park on September 11 at 6:30 p.m. Individuals each run two consecutive 1.25 mile loops before handing off a baton to their teammate. After the race, enjoy a free concert as well as a free dinner provided by Tacodeli and North by Northwest Restaurant. Entry fees are $60 per team before September 4 and $80 thereafter. Packet pick-up will take place at Run-Tex Riverside (located at 422 W. Jack's Generic Triathlon
Jack Generic Triathlon, a great event for both the beginner and the more experienced athlete, takes places on September 6 at 8 a.m. at Sky Ranch in New Braunfels. Registration fees are $55 for individuals and$85 for two- or three-person relays.
