Meet at Liberty Hill Elementary School on Loop 332, just west of Liberty Hill, on July 3 at 8 a.m. These 25- and 50-mile intermediate level rides follow quiet back roads through the picturesque landscape of Jollyville Plateau. Pedal through places like Joppa, Andice, Oatmeal and Mahomet, but don’t blink or you might miss the breathtaking scenery. Bertram is the water stop on this ride. For more information, contact Vickie and Jeff at 257-2967.

OLD SAN ANTONIO ROAD
Ring in the Fourth of July holiday with this historic ride down Old San Antonio Road on July 4 at 8 a.m. Meet at Williams Elementary School, located at Mario and Blue Valley Drive (one block east of South First Street and six blocks south of William Cannon) for a select-your-own-distance ride up to 55 miles. The relatively flat out-and-back route goes through Buda, Kyle and a thickly wooded portion of Blanco River Valley to northern San Marcos. For more information, call Daniel at 891-8539.

PFINALLY PFLUGERVILLE
In conjunction with Velocity Cycling, and to celebrate the extended holiday weekend, a special Century Training Option will be offered on July 5 at 8 a.m. Visit Velocity Cycling’s Web site (www.velocitycycling.org) for training recommendations. Exit on Highway 1825 from Interstate Highway 35 and curve east to the traffic light in old downtown Pflugerville. Turn left on Railroad Avenue. Proceed north to Gilleland Creek Park on the left and meet at the pool. The rides will be 13 to 47 miles through flat and slightly rolling farmland. For more information, contact Jim at 251-1761.

CEDAR PARK FEVER
Meet at the north side of C.C. Mason Elementary School in Cedar Park for this ride on July 10 at 8 a.m. From Highway 183 North, turn left on F.M. 1431 to the second light (Lakeline Boulevard) and then turn right. The school is located north of F.M. 1431 and the Lakeline intersection, on the left side. Cedar Park Fever consists of intermediate rides ranging from 15, 32, 56 and 76 miles in the Hill Country. There are some moderate hills on the longer routes. For more information, contact Jim at 251-1761.

TOUR DE AUSTIN
Come and join a joint ride with the San Antonio Wheelmen entirely within Austin, following established city bicycle routes on July 11 at 9 a.m. This ride starts in South Austin and goes through Travis Heights, Barton Springs, Zilker Park, Deep Eddy, Tarrytown, Hyde Park, U.T., the capitol grounds and returns to Congress Avenue, all at a leisurely pace. Cue sheets will be provided, but bring $1 for a City of Austin bicycle route map. From Ben White take the Congress Avenue exit and head toward downtown. Follow Congress to Mary Street and take a right. Fulmore Middle School is on the right side, and riders should meet in the parking lot. For more information, contact Rick at 433-3562.
