Most people rue the day they start feeling older. Worse however, is the dreaded realization of looking older than you feel. Short of scouring the globe for the illusive Fountain of Youth, it’s probably safe to say that most everyone would welcome a way to halt the signs of aging. Fortunately it seems, in our blessed days of medical advancement and drug-store convenience, we needn’t look any further than across the street and over-the-counter.
StriVectin, a topical cream originally developed to repair stretch marks, is now successfully being used to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
With impressive-sounding ingredients like skin-firming agents, elasticizers and skin hydrators, StriVectin has been shown to increase thickness and firmness of collagen up to 100 percent and reduce wrinkles by as much as 68 percent. Compatible with all skin colors and effective on any type of wrinkle, StriVectin can dramatically improve the appearance of age spots and dark, under-eye circles. It can also reduce the actual length, depth and volume of everyday wrinkles within as little as 28 days of initial application. Finally, it has been shown to improve acne scars, burn scars and blemishes that result from chicken pox.
Interestingly, StriVectin’s potency as an anti-wrinkle cream was essentially dumb-luck, according to Gina Gay, spokesperson for StriVectin’s exclusive distributor, Kline Becker.
“When we first handed out samples of the StriVectin formula as part of our market research, the sample tubes were simply marked ‘topical cream.’ But as the samples were passed to friends and family, the message on the bottle became muddled, and some people used it as a facial moisturizer. As we began to receive feedback from users, like ‘I look 10 years younger’ and ‘my crows feet are gone,’ we knew we had something more than America’s most effective stretch mark reducer,” says Gay.
To apply StriVectin, begin with clean, dry skin, and massage a small amount into the target area using a circular motion until it is fully absorbed. A little goes a long way, so use only a dime-sized amount for the facial area and a quarter-sized amount for stretch marks on the body. Apply no more than three times daily for best results and for overall skin safety.
StriVectin can be used with other facial products, but be sure to test combinations on the inside of your forearm before applying to the face.
The average cost of StriVectin is $135 and it can be purchased at Aesthetica Med Spa, Sephora or Barton Creek Resort and Spa. To learn more about StriVectin, also check out www.strivectin.com.
