Bandera 100k, 50k, 25k
Challenge yourself in this Hill Country State National Area race, being held at 10600 Bandera Creek Road in Bandera on Jan. 10. Choose from 100K, 50K or 25K trail runs. The race will take place on a single-track, rugged “Jeep road.” Packets will be available for pick-up Jan. 9 and 10 at the race site lodge. The cost is $80 for the 100K, $60 for the 50K and $40 for the 25K up until race-day. On the day of the race, they are $85 for the 100K, $65 for the 50K and $45 for the 25K. RUN-TEX 30K
This is the fifth race in the Run-Tex distance challenge leading up to the Motorola Marathon in February. The race will begin and end at Hays High School located at 4800 Jack C. Hays Trail in Buda on Jan. 11. All proceeds will benefit Hays High School’s “Project Prom,” a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization. Fees are $35 from now until the day of the race; the cost is $40 on the day of the race. Pick up packets at Run-Tex Town Lake, located at 422 W. Riverside Dr., or at the campus gym at Hays High School on Jan. 9 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Jan. 10 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Packets will be available on the day of the race from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Hays High School is located 10 miles south of Austin, between Buda and Kyle. 3M half marathon

Join in the fun of Austin’s third largest road-racing event on Jan. 25. Participate in the half marathon, 13.1 miles downhill, or the half marathon relay comprised of two-person teams. The race will begin in the Arboretum area at 7:30 a.m. and take runners downtown. There’s also a noncompetitive .25 mile run for kids 10 years old and younger. A prize of $15,000 is guaranteed to be donated to Capital Area Food Bank. Pick up packets at Run-Tex, located at 422 W. Riverside Dr., Jan. 23 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., or Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On the race day, packets will be available from 6 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. at Gateway Shopping Center. S.A.R.R. ENDURathon
The race will begin and end at Specht’s Store Restaurant and Saloon in Bulverde on Jan. 25 at 8:30 a.m. Fees are $18 per person or $16 for San Antonio Road Runner (S.A.R.R.) members; after Jan.19, fees are $25 or $20 for active military and S.A.R.R. members. To get to the race site, take Blanco Road nine miles north of Loop 1604 and turn right onto Specht Road. The restaurant is located at 122 Specht Road.
