Comal County A&M Scholarship Golf Tournament. The Comal County A&M Club is hosting its Third Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at The Bandit Golf Course, located at 6019 FM 725 in New Braunfels. The entry fee is $80 per golfer and the format will be a four-person scramble. Singles are welcome and will be matched with others to form a full team. Light O’ the Moon. Float our favorite section of the Colorado River in a different light, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. These trips are timed around the full moon of each month. Eight-man rafts with an LCRA guide at the helm, will carry you down the river on the brightest night of the month. You will enjoy a sunset from the water as the day winds down and the moon rises. The Rosedale Ride. San Marcos Canoeing. Have a blast navigating the classic hot spots of the San Marcos River from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Old Mill Rapids, Broken Bone Rapids and Cottonseed Rapids are some of the more famous sections we will encounter. Cold, spring-fed waters create this river, just 10 miles upstream from where we start. The six miles we canoe are a step back in time, with old mills, gnarled cypress trees and untouched banks providing escape for the day. Equipment, watercraft and instruction are provided. . The Star of Texas Fair & Rodeo will host its fourth annual Sunrise Stampede 5K fun run at the fairgrounds. Family Trail Days. Join the Colorado River Walkers and New Balance for a pair of walks through the historic South Austin neighborhoods of Fairview Park and Travis Heights. The walks start between 8 a.m. and noon at Hire.com, located at 200 Academy Drive (just east of Congress Avenue) and finish by 3 p.m. both days. Choose from either a 10-K or a 6K walk on city streets and park trails, with some hills. Wheelchairs and strollers are welcome. This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association, a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports and counts toward acquisition of IVV achievement awards. The walk is free if you do not need IVV credit.
