Winners of ABJ's Healthiest Employers Announced for 2014
This morning was a great time to take a stroll around the lake with Austin’s most fitness-minded employers. It was great to meet and mingle with companies, and what better way to do that than move and talk. The walk was lead by founder and co-owner of Heat Bootcamp Cody Butler; one of the highlights was having Olympian and U.S. silver medalist Leo Manzano, fresh off a new meet and stadium record in the 800m at last night’s Texas Relays, run by with training buddies.
After the walk, Austin Business Journal (ABJ) publisher Heather Ladage greeted the assembly and introduced dignitaries and sponsors, and Matt Curtis of Homeaway gave an inspiring (and funny) welcome. Awards were presented by Brock Purslow of Humana and
ABJ has three categories for businesses, based on size: small (2-99 employees), medium (100-499), and large (more than 500). Ten businesses were selected in the two smaller categories, while 20 businesses rounded out the large company list. There were two ties in the large company list--a very rare occurance, as points were awarded out to eight decimal places! Here's a ranked listing, by category.
