NLand Opens for 2017 Season
NLand, North America’s first surf park and the largest in the world, will open for its 2017 season on Friday, May 12.
“Spearheading innovative technology is not for the faint of heart,” said Doug Coors, NLand’s Founder and CEO. “The response from the global surf community has been humbling and we are eager to showcase our updated lagoon and amenities for 2017.”
NLand made surfing history in 2016 when it debuted world-class waves in Austin. New features begin with a reconfigured lagoon with three distinct waves for surfers of all levels.
• The Bay Wave offers an excellent place to enjoy a gentle, whitewater wave.
• The Inside Wave is a challenging point break where surfers can perform a variety of maneuvers.
• The iconic Reef Wave commands center stage with barreling and open-face sections over an epic 30-second ride.
NLand has also added an all-new Boogie Bay, a dedicated area for boogie boarders that will widen the fan base of NLand’s surfing community.
Finally, the shores have been altered and give spectators a more intimate view of the action in the lagoon.
The park also features the NLand Training Center, a state-of-the-art surf school with accelerated training techniques; Blue Prairie, a locally-sourced restaurant; and the NLand Surf Shop featuring high-end RVCA and NLand-branded apparel, top of the line equipment and other gear.
“We designed the park to be an inclusive experience so surfers of all levels can experience the waves together while enjoying a delicious meal, original shopping, and fabulous views from our beach, the Pier and the Overlook,” Coors said.
