The iPhone Can Help You Get Fit. Whether you’re at the office, the park or at home, iPhone now has hundreds of health and fitness applications to help ease the stress of finding adequate time to fit a workout into your daily routine.

LIVESTRONG Calorie Tracker
Rated number one amongst health and fitness apps, the Calorie Tracker from LIVESTRONG.COM can help you track or research your daily intake of calories, carbohydrates, fat and protein. It also offers access to The Daily Plate, with a database of more than 450,000 food and restaurant items — the largest one yet. This app also has a database of exercises and activities that help track and burn calories.

iMapMyRun
This app is uses iPhone 3G’s built-in GPS to synchronize training logs and routes on MapMyRun.com, list your training history, and keep real-time tracking for distance, pace, time and speed display.

WebMD Mobile
Information from this app comes straight from the trusted WebMD Web site. Users can find answers to basic health concerns, symptoms, treatment and first aid. You can search WebMD, plus there’s a Pill Identifier to help identify prescription drugs, vitamins, supplements and over-the-counter medicines. There’s also WebMD First Aid Information, offering treatment procedures, children’s safety, first aid kit preparation, visual guides to CPR, choking and other potential emergency situations.

Pedometer: $2.99
With iPhone’s built-in stopwatch, you can measure running, walking and jogging distance. Pedometer also counts laps, distance, calories, and speed. Use internal compass latitude and longitude readings and track your progress with a records and workout logs. The higher iPhone’s signal strength, the more accurate your Pedometer settings will be. It keeps a history of your daily totals, timed runs and automatic screen dimming saves battery life.

Yoga Stretch: $1.99
Yoga Stretch is your own personal yoga instructor walking you through a full session including audio commentary, images and music. It’s designed to improve strength, balance, posture and flexibility. Play a session at a chosen time with over 60 yoga moves, or turn on an audio instructor that will tell you information about your current pose and when to transition. There are also meditative background songs for each yoga session.

iPump Pilates: $2.99
Exercise Physiologist Declan Condron, PumpOne co-founder, and Pilates instructor Kristin McGee, created this three-level Pilates mat session app that targets tests your strength and flexibility as well as tone your midsection. This app is a component of PumpOne’s workout software designed for your iPod, nano or cell phone. It offers a large exercise library, audio coaching, rep counting and the ability to log and email each workout.
