Kick Mo's Butt: HIT Center
HOW IT WORKS
In an endless search to find the best workouts in town, Monica Brant-Peckham has agreed to be our “guinea pig” and take them on full force. Every month we’ll feature a new trainer and a different set of workouts for our readers, in the process trying to Kick Mo’s Butt!

THE WORKOUT
Getting HIT at the HIT Center.
Four exercises done for time with each based on sets of repetitions:
• Sand Pit – shuffles, sprints, broad jumps, power skips; 2 sets for time (goal is to beat the first time)
• ELG Accelerations; no more than four sets of six
• K-Chain Core/Upper Body Exercises; 2 sets of 10 each
• Makoto Agility Exercise and Box Push on the turf; 3 two-minute rounds
QUESTION AND ANSWER
Did you get your butt kicked?
Once again I did.
Did you ever feel over-exerted?
I was highly exerted, but since I like that kind of training, it works for me. Definitely not too easy!
What was the hardest exercise?
The ending of the 35-grade treadmill drills were tough and the ending of the sand workout too.
What part of your body did it work
the most?
Definitely glutes, hamstrings and core mostly. Just where I need it!
Were you sore the next day?
No, but I am three weeks out of contest so I am pretty conditioned right now.
Was the workout mentally or physically tough?
Definitely both.
Was it fun?
YES!
What was your favorite part of the workout?
The sprints on the 35-grade treadmill.
Your least favorite part?
Pushing the box after the eye drills.
The most challenging part?
Definitely the sand pit.
Would you do the workout again?
Absolutely. I’m a sucker for tough workouts (guess you’ve noticed that about me by now).
What movements did you learn for the first time?
HIT has some really interesting machines that I haven’t used before. Unfortunately I don’t recall the names of them but they’re all something that I haven’t played with before and would enjoy again if given the chance.
Could you do the workout alone?
No, again, there were too many cool machines that they brought into play that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
What did you like most about the trainer?
Jason definitley knew how to push and keep it fun, too.
What from the workout would you recommend?
All of it. The entire HIT Team — Jason, Justin and Brett — did a great job.
Any parting thoughts?
Stay Fit, Love Life and God Bless U!!
