Kick Mo's Butt Goes to Pedal Harder
Indoor Cycling Training & Analysis
This Month's Trainer:
Kevin Livingston
6-time Tour de France rider, US National Champion
pedalhard.com
A 60-minute indoor cycling workout on a virtual course built by Kevin Livingston of Pedal Hard. The terrain was set to modulate based upon effort, heart rate, power output and revolutions per minute (RPMs). The Pedal Hard software tracks and analyzes a variety of parameters, allows riders to build their own course and even race against others. It’s the only one of its kind in Austin.
Q&A With Monica:
Did you get your butt kicked?
Yes, it was hard.
Did you ever feel over-exerted?
No, it was not too easy, but I survived.
What was the hardest part of the workout?
Just riding the bike the whole time. I’m not used to that.
What part of your body did it work the most?
Legs and my triceps from holding myself up. I understand I maybe wasn’t using the proper technique to hold myself on the bike.
Were you sore the next day?
Just my seat bones from not wearing proper clothing. OUCH!
Was the workout mentally or physically tough?
Mentally, as I am not much of a “bike” person.
Was it fun?
Yes, but of course all of the KMB workouts have been fun. Everyone is always in good spirits!
What was your favorite part of the workout?
The ending. Ha ha!
Your least favorite part?
Sitting on the bike.
The most challenging part?
Staying on the bike.
Had you every done anything like it before?
I took a spin class two times in my life and that’s the closest thing!
Would you do the workout again?
Honestly? Probably not, since I’m not too fond of bikes.
What movements did you learn for the first time?
I learned a lot about biking overall.
Could you do the workout alone?
No way.
How effective was the trainer?
Kevin was very informative and encouraging. It was an honor to work out with him!
What from the workout would you recommend?
Definitely, if anyone is interested in becoming a better biker, I would send them to Pedal Hard. Great place, very motivating and has all kinds of new technology to work with.
Any parting thoughts?
Stay Fit, Love Life and God Bless U!!
